Empowering Communities through Sustainable Tourism

Embogo Community Foundation

Founded by a local woman who survived a harrowing encounter with a buffalo as a child, Embogo Lodge is a community-centered initiative in Queen Elizabeth Conservation Area, Ishasha sector. The lodge's foundation directly benefits the impoverished community surrounding Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, which has faced prolonged challenges due to human-wildlife conflicts.

The foundation’s initiatives include:

1. Community Camp: Providing a unique experience for guests while directly supporting local livelihoods.
2. One Goat per Family: An economic and nutrition, and soil restorstion initiative promoting sustainable income and food security.
3. Community Skilling and Psychosocial Center: Offering training and support to empower locals.
